Come and join Marie at the beautiful Brooksby Hall in Leicestershire to learn to create these beautiful Fairisle Fingerless Mittens for the Christmas Ideas Workshop. This is a great project to learn Fair Isle knitting or to practice your technique. Knitted in a combination of Fair Isle in the round and flat, this project is suitable for those knitters that have not tried stranded colour work before or want to learn to knit Fair Isle flat.

DATE Saturday 18th November 2017.

TIME 10am until 4pm. We will start promptly so please arrive by 9.45am.

LOCATION Brooksby Hall, Brooksby, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire LE14 2LJ.

WHAT YOU WILL MAKE You will start to make the beautiful fairisle mittens using 9 soft shades of Spindrift by Jamieson's of Shetland.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN How to knit fairisle in the round and flat, how best to hold the yarns, stranding and weaving in the ends plus tips of picking up stitches and centralising each pattern.

SKILL LEVEL Suitable for knitters of all abilities, especially suitable for those knitters wanting to learn Fair Isle knitting in the round or flat.

WHAT IS INCLUDED The pattern, charts and the yarn to complete the mittens (9 x 25g balls). A lunch made from locally sourced produce, lots of tea & coffee, fruit juice, biscuits and afternoon cake.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING 2.75mm and 3.25mm circular needles - 25cm fixed circulars or 25cm cable length with short interchangeable circulars, 2.75mm and 3.25 straight needles.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE MITTENS You will be given everything to complete the mittens. You will actually receive enough yarn to make 2 pairs of mittens.

NUMBER OF WORKSHOP PLACES Minimum of 10 people to a maximum of 20.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS I reserve the right to cancel the workshop. In the event of a cancellation your fee will be refunded in full. If you have to cancel then I will try to fill your place. If successful your fee will be refunded in full, otherwise the fee is non-refundable.

THINGS TO DO If you fancy making a short break of your workshop visit, the market towns of Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Uppingham are well worth a visit. Melton mowbray is renowned for it's famous pork pie and the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland are famous for Stilton cheese making.
