FAIRISLE PATCH CUSHION WORKSHOP - 20th AUG 2017

£105.00

Come and join Marie at the beautiful Brooksby Hall in Leicestershire to learn to create this beautiful Fairisle Patch Cushion. This cushion was the project for my first Workshop Holiday in the Yorkshire Dales in November 2016. Although the cushion design looks complicated, it is relatively easy to knit. The design is made by knitting off a central square (like a log cabin effect) by picking up stitches.

DATES Sunday 20th August 2017.

TIME 10am until 4pm. We will start promptly so please arrive by 9.45am.

LOCATION Brooksby Hall, Brooksby, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire LE14 2LJ.

WHAT YOU WILL MAKE You will start to make the beautiful fairisle patch cushion using 13 soft shades of Spindrift by Jamieson's of Shetland.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN How to knit fairisle flat (on the right side and wrong side), how best to hold the yarns, stranding and weaving in the ends plus tips of picking up stitches and centralising each pattern.

SKILL LEVEL Suitable for knitters with some experience of fairisle knitting, however knitters new to fairisle knitting will be very welcome.

WHAT YOU WILL BE GIVEN The pattern, charts and the yarn to complete the cushion (13 x 25g balls).

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING 3mm straight or circular needles.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE CUSHION You will be given the yarn to complete a cushion front, however there will be enough yarn left over to knit a striped back in stocking stitch or alternatively back the cushion using a woollen tweed fabric.
