THE LITTLE GREY SHEEP

Well Manor is a small family farm on the Surrey, Hampshire border and is the home of The little Grey Sheep yarn company. Nestled amongst the rolling countryside the farm dates back to Tudor times. With this heritage in mind, it is the main aim of the farm to conserve the landscape so that it can be enjoyed by the many generations to come. The sheep are an integral part of this conservation plan and through managed grazing and reversion of agricultural land to traditional pastures the landscape can return to its historic roots. The Little Grey Sheep yarn company was born as a result of this conservation. With the help of Susie, the amazing shepherdess, Emma has grown her yarn business over the last few years, priding herself in the knowledge that all her yarn is made from her own home grown wool which is washed in Yorkshire, spun in Devon and then finally hand dyed by herself on the farm.

THE BEL & THE DRAGON

This Grade II listed former inn dates as far back as 1540 and sits in the historic village of Odiham near Hook in Hampshire. The picturesque village offers the perfect setting for the Bel & The Dragon’s unique combination of stylish accommodation, good food and a warm welcome.

WINCHESTER CATHEDRAL

This is one of Britain’s most historic buildings with over 1000 years of history. It is Europe’s longest medieval Cathedral housing the beautiful illuminated Winchester Bible, 12th Century wall paintings and medieval carvings.

JANE AUSTEN’S HOUSE

It is 200 years this year since renowned novelist Jane Austen died, so we take the opportunity to visit her home on the way back from Winchester. This unpretentious cottage is where Jane spent the last eight years of her life from 1809 until her death in 1817. It was in this house that Jane’s genius flourished and where she was free to write.
